17 CEE configuration management tasks Display the running configuration file To display the running configuration, perform the following steps from Privileged EXEC mode. 1. Enter the configure terminal command to access global configuration mode. 2. Enter the show command to display the configuration. switch#show running-config Saving the running configuration file This tasks causes the running configuration to become the default configuration. To save the running configuration, perform the following steps from Privileged EXEC mode. 1. Enter the configure terminal command to access global configuration mode. 2. Enter the copy command to copy the currently running configuration to the startup configuration. switch#copy running-config startup-config Overwrite the startup config file (y/n): y Loading the startup configuration file If you wish to reverse the changes to the running configuration, this task reloads the default startup configuration, overwriting the running configuration. To load the default configuration, perform the following steps from Privileged EXEC mode. 1. Enter the configure terminal command to access global configuration mode. 2. Enter the copy command to load the startup configuration. switch#copy startup-config running-config Erasing the startup configuration file. Display the running configuration file
To display the running configuration, perform the following steps from Privileged EXEC mode.
1.
Enter the
configure terminal
command to access global configuration mode.
2.
Enter the
show
command to display the configuration.
switch#
show running-config
Saving the running configuration file
This tasks causes the running configuration to become the default configuration.
To save the running configuration, perform the following steps from Privileged EXEC mode.
1.
Enter the
configure terminal
command to access global configuration mode.
2.
Enter the
copy
command to copy the currently running configuration to the startup
configuration.
switch#
copy running-config startup-config
Overwrite the startup config file (y/n):
y
Loading the startup configuration file
If you wish to reverse the changes to the running configuration, this task reloads the default startup
configuration, overwriting the running configuration.
To load the default configuration, perform the following steps from Privileged EXEC mode.
