Removing the Input/Output (I/O) Board 1. Follow the procedures in Before Working Inside Your Computer. 2. Remove the: a) SD card b) battery c) base cover d) keyboard trim e) keyboard f) optical drive g) primary and secondary hard drive h) palmrest 3. Perform the following steps to remove the I/O board: a) Disconnect the ExpressCard module connector from the I/O board. b) Remove the screw that secures the I/O board to the computer. c) Lift the right edge of the I/O board upwards to disengage the connector and remove it from computer. Installing the I/O Board 1. Connect the I/O board connector and slide the I/O board into its slot in the computer. 2. Tighten the screw to secure the I/O board to the computer. 3. Connect the ExpressCard module connector to the I/O board. 4. Install the: a) palmrest b) primary and secondary hard drive c) optical drive 48

Removing the Input/Output (I/O) Board

Remove the:
a)
SD card
b)

primary and secondary hard drive

3.
Perform the following steps to remove the I/O board:
a)
Disconnect the ExpressCard module connector from the I/O board.
b)
Remove the screw that secures the I/O board to the computer.
c)
Lift the right edge of the I/O board upwards to disengage the connector and remove it from computer.
Installing the I/O Board
1.
Connect the I/O board connector and slide the I/O board into its slot in the computer.
2.
Tighten the screw to secure the I/O board to the computer.
3.
Connect the ExpressCard module connector to the I/O board.

Install the:
