DELL CONFIDENTIAL – PRELIMINARY 8/9/16 - FOR PROOF ONLY
Limited Dynamic Lock
— Locks the port by deleting the
dynamic MAC addresses associated with the port. The port learns
up to the maximum addresses allowed on the port. Both
relearning and aging MAC addresses are enabled.
Max Entries
— Displays the maximum number of MAC addresses
that can be learned on the port.
Action on Violation
— Action to be applied to packets arriving on a
locked port. The possible options are:
Discard
— Discard the packets from any unlearned source.
Forward
— Forward the packets from an unknown source,
without learning the MAC address.
Shutdown
— Discard the packet from any unlearned source, and
shut down the port. Ports remain shutdown until they are
reactivated, or the device is reset.
Spanning Tree fields:
Point-to-Point Admin Status
— Displays whether a point-to-point
links is established. The possible options are:
Enable
— Enables the device to establish a point-to-point link, or
specifies for the device to automatically establish a point-to-point
link. To establish communications over a point-to-point link, the
originating PPP first sends Link Control Protocol (LCP) packets
to configure and test the data link. After a link is established and
optional facilities are negotiated as needed by the LCP, the
originating PPP sends
Network Control Protocols (NCP) packets
to select and configure one or more network layer protocols.
When each of the chosen network layer protocols has been
configured, packets from each network layer protocol can be sent
over the link. The link remains configured for communications
until explicit LCP or NCP packets close the link, or until some
external event occurs. This is the actual switch port link type. It
may differ from the administrative state.
Disable
— Disables point-to-point link.
Auto
— The device automatically establishes a point-to-point
link.
