The previously-defined policies are displayed. 2 To create a policy, click Edit, Add. 3 Enter the name of the new policy in the Policy Name field. 4 Add class maps to the new policy in the Policy Class Maps page. Policy Class Maps One or more class maps can be added to a policy. A class map defines the type of packets that are considered to belong to the same traffic flow. To add a class map to a policy: 1 Click Quality of Service > QoS Mapping > Policy Class Maps. 2 Select a policy in the Policy Name field. The class maps in that policy are displayed. 3 To add a class map, click Edit. 4 Select a Class Map from the View By menu, click Add and enter the parameters. - Policy Name - Select the policy to which the class map is being added. - Class Map Name - Select an existing class map to be associated with the policy. Class maps are created in the Class Mapping pages. - Action Type - Select the action regarding the ingress CoS and/or DSCP value of all the matching packets. • None - Ignore the ingress CoS and/or DSCP value. The matching packets are sent as best effort. • Trust CoS-DSCP - If this option is selected, the switch will trust the CoS or DSCP value of the matching packet. If a packet is an IP packet, the switch will put the packet in the egress queue, based on its DSCP value and the DSCP to Queue mapping. Otherwise, the egress queue of the packet is based on the packet's CoS value and the CoS to Queue mapping. • Set Marking - See the description of this field below. To create a QoS policy:

Policy Class Maps

— If this option is selected, the switch will trust
the CoS or DSCP value of the matching packet. If a packet is an
IP packet, the switch will put the packet in the egress queue,
based on its DSCP value and the DSCP to Queue mapping.
Otherwise, the egress queue of the packet is based on the packet's
CoS value and the CoS to Queue mapping.
