3-2 Setup Utility A system setup program is included in your BIOS on the motherboard. The setup program is used to key in the configuration you want for your system. Specifically, you can set the date, time, base memory, expansion memory, number of floppy and hard disk drives and display configuration as well as get information on hard disk types. Your system BIOS is fully compatible with IBM BIOS. In addition, many special functions are supported: High density disk drives A password User-defined hard disk type System utilities -timer and calculator The setup program is simple to use. It is extremely important that you respond correctly to prompts about your computer. System Setup Program You will need to run the setup program in the following situations: your computer is turned on for the first time, when adding or removing any hardware, or when the rechargeable battery is dead. If the battery for the CMOS chip is dead or the system configuration was keyed in incorrectly, you will have to rerun the system setup program. The computer will give you this screen message: Press Fl key to enter SETUP program or press any other key to continue Pressing will automatically start the SETUP program.
