If you wish, you can also install the paper rest wire as-shown below. Do not use the paper rest wire with legal-sized documents. Plugging in the Fax Machine Make sure that the rest fits evenly and securely. The fax machine can be plugged into any standard power outlet. Make sure that the outlet is grounded and that it is not on the same line as large appliances or office machines that tend to draw a lot of power in a very short period of time, such as refrigerators and copiers. The fax machine power requirements can be found in Technical Specifications, Chapter 6. Plug the power cord into a properly grounded electrical outlet. You do not need to turn the fax machine on or off. Now you should insert the recording paper roll.
