moderate amount of string tension that is closer to today's playing styles. If a more extreme string tension is desired, you may use a heavier gauge of strings. Slight changes can be made by adjusting the neck pitch of the instrument (following the neck angle adjustment procedure). String Height Adjustment Each Bridge section may be adjusted to the height desired. Adjustments are made by turning the two Height Adjustment Screws on each section. An Allen wrench is provided for this purpose. To raise the strings, turn the adjustment screws clockwise; to lower the strings, turn the screws counterclockwise. The instrument should be adjusted so that it provides comfortable playability, free of rattle. The optimum height adjustment varies from player to player due to differences in technique and playing styles. Be sure that both height adjustment screws of each section rest firmly against the bridge plate. Also be sure that each bridge section is parallel to the bridge plate. Intonation Adjustment The Bridge also allows length adjustment of each string to assure perfect intonation. For greater accuracy, these adjustments should be made when strings are in new condition. To adjust each string: Play the open string harmonic at the twelfth fret. Compare this note with the note produced by fretting the string at the twelfth fret. 5
