The Mode A code is monitored for correspondence to an emergency code. For ATC transponder-based ADS-B transmit systems, the discrete emergency code declaration capability should be integrated into the transponder functionality and should be controlled from the transponder control panel. The GTX 33 facilitates the transponder code entry function.
