TROUBLESHOOTING TIPS Troubleshooting tips ... Before you call for service Problem Control knobs will not turn Fan does not work Poor venting Tiny scratches or metal marks (may appear as cracks) or abrasions on radiant cooktop glass surface Areas of discoloration or dark streaks on the cooktop Hot sugar mixtures or plastic melted to the surface Pitting (or indentation) of the cooktop Possible Cause Controls improperly set. The fan control knob is improperly set. Cord improperly connected or power turned off. Clogged filter. House too airtight. Wall cap obstructed. Wall cap damper door stuck. Duct length exceeds recommended 100 equivalent foot maximum. Incorrect cleaning methods being used. Cookware with rough bottoms being used or coarse particles (salt or sand) were between the cookware and the surface of the cooktop. Cookware has been slid across the cooktop surface. Improper cookware being used. Hot surface on a model with a lightcolored cooktop. Food spillovers not cleaned before next use. Incorrect cleaning methods being used. Hot cooktop came into contact with these substances. Hot sugar mixture spilled or plastic melted on the cooktop. What To Do To turn from the OFF position, push the knob in and then turn. The knob can only be turned in a counterclockwise direction. When the knob is at any other position, it can be turned in either direction without being pushed in. Turn knob in clockwise direction to turn fan on. Check connections. Turn on power at the fuse box. Clean filter per instructions. Open a window slightly to provide fresh air source. Remove blockage from exterior wall cap. Check exterior wall cap damper door for free movement or obstruction. Reduce number of elbows to simplify duct run. See the Cleaning the glass cooktop section. %HVXUHFRRNZDUHERWWRPVDQGFRRNZDUHDUHFOHDQ before use. Use cookware with smooth bottoms. Tiny scratches are not removable but will become less visible in time as a result of cleaning. Marks from aluminum and copper pans as well as mineral deposits from water or food can be removed with the cleaning cream. This is normal. The surface may appear discolored when it is hot. This is temporary and will disappear as the glass cools. See the Cleaning the glass cooktop section. Use recommended cleaning procedures. See the Glass surface-potential for permanent damage section in the Cleaning the glass cooktop section. Call a qualified technician for replacement. 36 49-80516-4
