Owner's manual hk720 Your investment in a component high fidelity system indicates you have a more than average interest in music. The fact that your investment includes a Harman Kardon Semiautomatic Stereo Turntable shows us your appreciation of uncompromised reproduction of the music you enjoy. This unit is an expression of our love for music and our desire to hear music reproduced as accurately as possible. Unpacking The counterweight (19), platter (11), turntable mat (12), dustcover (10), dustcover hinges (6), 45rpm adaptor, and tracking angle gauge are included inside the packing cushion. Take these out and check that all parts are present in good condition. Retain the packing materials that accompany your hk720 so that the turntable may be reshipped safely at a later date if the need should arise. Assembling the hk720 Before mounting the platter (11) into position, stretch the drive belt (22) attached under the platter and hook it around the motor capstan (23) as shown in Fig. 1. Then carefully mount the platter (11) onto the center spindle (18) and place the turntable mat (12) on top of the platter (11). (See Fig. 2.) Installing the dust cover Slide two dust cover hinges (6) into the grooves (9) on the rear of the dust cover (10). Hold the dust cover (10) tilted as if open and fit it so that the dust cover hinges (6) slide into the hinge brackets (5) in the rear of the turntable. See Fig. 3. Check that the dust cover (10) closes and opens smoothly and that it stays open at a fixed angle. Fig. 2 28 DRIVE DIU 23 INCNICO WPWIal TURNTABLE MAT PLATTER Fig .3 • 0°0 CENTER SPINDLE 2
