7.8 Memory Board If a memory expansion board option has been previously installed in the computer, it must be removed before another is installed. To remove the memory board, complete the following steps: 1. Disconnect the AC power and any external devices (Section 7.4.1). 2. Remove the battery pack (Section 7.4.3). 3. Remove the DualBay device (Section 7.4.4). 4. Remove any PC Cards (Section 7.4.5). 5. Raise the keyboard (Section 7.7). CAUTION: If you need to remove the memory expansion board, be sure to release the locking tabs that secure the memory board in the slot. If the tabs are not released, the connectors may break and cause irreparable damage to the system board. 1 2 6. Release the right and left locking tab at each end of the memory expansion board.
