Display assembly Before removing the display assembly, follow these steps: 1. Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer. 3. Disconnect all external devices from the computer. 4. Remove the keyboard/top cover (see Keyboard/top cover on page 23). 5. Disconnect the battery cable from the system board (see Battery on page 42). Remove the display assembly: 1. Release the ZIF connector (1) to which the display panel cable is attached, and then disconnect the display panel cable from the system board. 2. Disconnect the wireless antenna cables (2) from the WLAN terminals on the system board and WLAN terminals on the WLAN module. NOTE: The white WLAN antenna cable labeled "1/Main" connects to the system board "Main" terminal. The black WLAN antenna cable labeled "2/Aux" connects to the system board "Aux" terminal. 3. Remove the two Phillips 2.0×4.0 screws (3) that secure the display assembly to the base enclosure. 4. Remove the display assembly (4). 5. If it is necessary to replace the display enclosure or any of the display assembly subcomponents: a. Remove the two display bezel screw covers (1). b. Remove the two Phillips PM2.0×2.0 broad head screws (2) that secure the display enclosure to the display panel assembly. Component replacement procedures 35

Display assembly
Before removing the display assembly, follow these steps:
1.
Turn
off
the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is
off
or in Hibernation, turn the
computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2.
Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer.
3.
Disconnect all external devices from the computer.
4.
Remove the keyboard/top cover (see
Keyboard/top cover
on page
23
).
5.
Disconnect the battery cable from the system board (see
Battery
on page
42
).
Remove the display assembly:
1.
Release the ZIF connector
(1)
to which the display panel cable is attached, and then disconnect the
display panel cable from the system board.
2.
Disconnect the wireless antenna cables
(2)
from the WLAN terminals on the system board and WLAN
terminals on the WLAN module.
NOTE:
The white WLAN antenna cable labeled “1/Main” connects to the system board “Main” terminal.
The black WLAN antenna cable labeled “2/Aux” connects to the system board “Aux” terminal.
3.
Remove the two Phillips 2.0×4.0 screws

that secure the display assembly to the base enclosure.
4.
Remove the display assembly

5.
If it is necessary to replace the display enclosure or any of the display assembly subcomponents:
a.
Remove the two display bezel screw covers

that secure the display enclosure to the
display panel assembly.
