(Some hard drives have a hard drive firmware patch that will fix an erroneous error message.) 1. Determine if hard drive is giving correct error message. Enter Computer Setup and run the Drive Protection System test under Storage > DPS Self-test. 2. Apply hard drive firmware patch if applicable. (Available at www.hp.com/support.) 3. Back up contents and replace hard drive. 1785-Multibay incorrectly installed (for Multibay option/ non-USDT systems) 1. Multibay option ribbon cables not seated or improperly attached. 2. Multibay device not properly seated. 3. Multibay diskette present. 1. Ensure the Multibay option is attached as device 0 on the IDE cable. 2.
