English TROUBLESHOOTING The HP Infrared Adapter's light is off or blinking • Make sure that the printer is within 1 m (3 ft) of the PC/notebook, with the swivel head of the HP Infrared Adapter pointing directly at the infrared port of the PC/notebook. • Make sure that there are no obstacles between the infrared ports on the printer and the PC/notebook. • Make sure that the infrared port of the PC/notebook is IrDA-compliant. Look for the IrDA logo in the documentation for the PC. • Make sure that the settings for COM, IRQ, and I/O address are correct. • Make sure that there are no other infrared devices operating in the immediate area. It is also possible that sunlight or bright artificial light can interfere with infrared communication. • Clean the lenses on the HP Infrared Adapter and the PC's infrared port. The printer is on and the HP Infrared Adapter's light is on, but nothing is printed Remove the HP Infrared Adapter from the printer and connect the printer to the PC/notebook with a printer cable. Note: You need to connect the printer back to LPT1 in order to print with the cable. Click on Control Panel, then Printers. Under Installed Printers select HP DeskJet 340. Click on Connect... Select LPT1. Connect your system and the printer with a cable and try printing. If the printer does not print with the cable either, refer to the section on "Connecting the Printer to your Computer" in your HP DeskJet 340 Printer User's Guide. Make sure that all the steps are adhered to. If none of the procedures described above or in the HP DeskJet 340 Printer User's Guide or in the on-line help that comes with the printer driver solves the problem, or if the printer does work with a cable, try resetting the printer to default settings. 1. The HP Infrared Adapter’s light is off or blinking
Make sure that the printer is within 1 m (3 ft) of the
PC/notebook, with the swivel head of the HP Infrared
Adapter pointing directly at the infrared port of the
PC/notebook.
Make sure that there are no obstacles between the
infrared ports on the printer and the PC/notebook.
Make sure that the infrared port of the PC/notebook
