Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer. 3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer. 4. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 39), and then remove the following components: a. Subwoofer (see Subwoofer on page 41) b. Hard drive (see Hard drive on page 51) c. Top Cover (see Top cover on page 56) Remove the keyboard: 1. Turn the top cover upside down, with the front toward you. 2. Remove the five Phillips PM2.5×3.6 screws (1) that secure the keyboard bracket to the top cover. 3. Slide the keyboard bracket (2) toward the top edge of the top cover until the five tabs (3) on the bottom edge of the bracket disengage from the top cover. ENWW Component replacement procedures 59
