If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer. 3. Disconnect all external devices from the computer. 4. Remove the bottom cover (see Bottom cover on page 24). 5. Disconnect the battery cable from the system board (see Battery on page 26). 6. Remove the hard drive (see Hard drive on page 31). 7. Remove the WLAN module (see WLAN module on page 32). 8. Remove the USB board (see USB board on page 37). Remove the USB board cables: 1. Release the ZIF connector (1) to which the USB board FFC cable is connected, and then disconnect the USB board FFC cable (2) from the system board. 2. Disconnect the USB board cable (3) from the system board. Reverse this procedure to install the USB board cables. 40 Chapter 5 Removal and replacement procedures

Before removing the USB board cables, follow these steps:
1.
Turn
off
the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is

3.
Disconnect all external devices from the computer.
4.

6.

7.
Remove the WLAN module (see

8.
Remove the USB board (see

).
Remove the USB board cables:
1.
Release the ZIF connector
(1)
to which the USB board FFC cable is connected, and then disconnect
the USB board FFC cable
(2)
from the system board.
2.
Disconnect the USB board cable
(3)
from the system board.
Reverse this procedure to install the USB board cables.
