6. Remove the module (2) by pulling it away from the slot at an angle. NOTE: Memory modules are designed with a notch (3) to prevent incorrect insertion into the memory module slot. Reverse this procedure to install a memory module. RTC battery Description RTC battery Spare part number 616501-001 Before removing the RTC battery: 1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn on the computer, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer. 3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first disconnecting the power cord from the AC outlet and then disconnecting the AC adapter from the computer. 4. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 42). Remove the RTC battery: 1. Turn the computer upside down with the front toward you. 2. Loosen the two Phillips PM2.5×6.0 captive screws (1) that secure the wireless/memory module compartment cover to the computer. 3. Before removing the RTC battery:
1.
Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn on
the computer, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2.
Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3.
Disconnect the power from the computer by first disconnecting the power cord from the AC
outlet and then disconnecting the AC adapter from the computer.
4.
Remove the battery (see
Battery
on page
42
).
Remove the RTC battery:
1.
Turn the computer upside down with the front toward you.
2.
Loosen the two Phillips PM2.5×6.0 captive screws

that secure the wireless/memory module
compartment cover to the computer.
3.
Lift the back side of the memory module cover
