Right-side components NOTE: Your computer may look slightly different from the illustration in this section. Component (1) Optical drive (2) Optical drive light on release button (3) USB port (4) RJ-11 (modem) jack (select models only) (5) AC adapter light (6) Power connector (7) Security cable slot Description Reads optical discs and, on select models, also writes to optical discs. Blinking: The optical drive is being accessed. Connects an optional USB device. Connects a modem cable (purchased separately). ● Blinking white: The computer is in the Sleep state. ● On white: The computer is connected to external power. ● Amber: The battery is charging. ● Off: The computer is not connected to external power. Connects an AC adapter. Attaches an optional security cable to the computer. NOTE: The security cable is designed to act as a deterrent, but it may not prevent the computer from being mishandled or stolen. 6 Chapter 1 Features
