As a Desktop Switch Twisted-pair straight-through or crossover cables Switch 2650 Server PCs and peripherals The Series 2600 Switches are designed to be used primarily as desktop switches to which end nodes, printers, other peripherals, and servers are directly connected, as shown in the above illustration. The end node devices are connected to the switch by straight-through or crossover twisted-pair cables. Either cable type can be used because of the "HP Auto-MDIX" and "IEEE Auto MDI/MDI-X" features on the Series 2600 Switches. 2-32
