Overview of an HP NetServer LH Pro Cluster Installation Unless otherwise specified, when more than one component is required, the additional component(s) must be identical in manufacture and configuration. Hardware The following hardware components are required for HP NetServer LH Pro cluster installations. Quantity System A Hardware Component Quantity System B 1 HP NetServer LH Pro 1 1 Display 1 1 HP 64MB, 60ns RAM 1 1 System Disk (not part of shared storage) 1 1 Generic PCI Ethernet LAN adapter 1 1 HP J3171A 10/100TX PCI Ethernet LAN Adapter (for cluster LAN) 1 1 HP D4943A HP NetRAID Adapter 1 1 HP D5957A NetRAID Cluster Adapter 1 1 HP D4921A Power Supply (redundant) 1 Shared Storage 1-2 HP Storage System/6 2-12 Hot Swap Disk Drive (shared storage) Dual Processor Requirement Uni-processor HP NetServers LH Pros are not supported by the Microsoft Server Cluster. To upgrade an HP NetServer's processing capability to allow cluster operations, see HP Order Assistant (below) for the required hardware, and refer to the appropriate instructions in HP Information Assistant (below). Required Tools When installing an HP NetServer LH Pro using an HP NetServer Storage System/6, you will need the following tools to disassemble and re-assemble the hardware: • 1/4" flat-blade screwdriver • TorxTM driver (#T15) • Paper clip, or similar pointed instrument (used to toggle small dip switches) • Flashlight (optional) • Portable Field Service Grounding Kit (3M part number 8505, or equivalent) HP NetServer LH Pro Microsoft Cluster Installation Guide - 1 October 1997 2
