Part 5: Installing HP NetRAID Software and Configuring the Disk Arrays To set up your RAID arrays: 1. Review the examples and procedures included in Appendix C before using HP NetRAID Assistant. 2. Follow the procedures outlined in Appendix C for the RAID level appropriate to your installation. Refer to the HP NetRAID User Guide in HP Information Assistant for detailed information about HP NetRAID configuration. After you have finished defining and configuring the cluster's arrays using HP NetRAID Assistant, you need to finish configuration using the Windows NT Disk Administrator utility. Configuring the Array Using Windows NT Disk Administrator The next configuration steps use the Windows NT utility, Disk Administrator. After you have created and initialized the logical arrays, you need to format the logical disks and then assign them "sticky" drive letters. To run Windows NT Disk Administrator: 1. Reboot System A so that Windows NT can recognize the logical disks you just created. The system boots and loads Windows NT on System A. To get accurate information about your shared disks, you must reboot the System before you run Disk Administrator. 2. From the Start menu, choose Programs | Administrative Tools | Disk Administrator. Disk Administrator loads, scans the disks and displays a list of the logical disks you created when you initialized the arrays using HP NetRAID Assistant.
