APPENDIX A - Obtaining HP NetRAID Utilities To get updated versions of the HP NetRAID utilities that contain firmware, drivers and the HP NetRAID Assistant program, you must download, extract, and then copy nr_clust.exe, a special version of the HP NetRAID utilities optimized for cluster installations. To obtain NetRAID firmware, you need to download nr_clust.exe (release 1.0) from the HP's FTP site. ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/servers/software Once you have downloaded nr_clust.exe, you need to extract and copy the HP NetRAID files and utilities to floppy diskettes. To extract and copy the HP NetRAID utilities: 1. From Windows NT Explorer, run nr_clust.exe by double-clicking the file. nr_clust.exe is self-extracting and when executed creates the three subdirectories shown in the table below. File Sub-Directory Fw_dvr Nrast_1 Nrast_2 Contents Description NetRAID firmware update and NetRAID Driver for Windows NT HP NetRAID Assistant program Setup HP NetRAID Assistant program files Disk Label NR Firmware & Driver HP NetRAID Assistant 1 HP NetRAID Assistant 2 2. Label three blank formatted diskettes as indicated in the above table. 3. Copy the contents of each of the subdirectories to an appropriately labeled floppy disk. NOTE When using Windows NT Explorer to copy the directory contents make sure that the explorer view options are set to Show all files using the Options and View menu commands so that all files will be copied. 30

To get updated versions of the HP NetRAID utilities that contain firmware, drivers and the HP NetRAID
