MDS600 and D6000 to two c-Class enclosures This example illustrates cabling from two BladeSystem c-Class enclosures to one MDS600 or D6000 storage enclosure. In this configuration, note the following: • This example shows a dual-domain MDS600 or D6000 with high-performance cabling. Dual-domain standard cabling and single-domain devices are also supported. NOTE: Restrictions exist, depending on the controller, storage enclosure, and drive model. For more information, see "External SAS device, controller, drive, and cabling support matrices" (page 77) Devices and quantities MDS600/D6000 storage enclosures: 1 c7000 enclosures: 2 6Gb SAS BL Switches: 4 (2 in each c-Class enclosure Server blade types: half-height and full-height Connection details • Top c7000, Switch in interconnect bay 5: ◦ Port 1: to storage drawer 2, primary I/O module, port 1 ◦ Port 2: to storage drawer 2, primary I/O module, port 2 • Top c7000, Switch in interconnect bay 6: ◦ Port 1: to storage drawer 2, secondary I/O module, port 1 ◦ Port 2: to storage drawer 2, secondary I/O module, port 2 • Bottom c7000, Switch in interconnect bay 5: ◦ Port 1: to storage drawer 1, primary I/O module, port 1 ◦ Port 2: to storage drawer 1, primary I/O module, port 2 • Top c7000, Switch in interconnect bay 6: ◦ Port 1: to storage drawer 1, secondary I/O module, port 1 ◦ Port 2: to storage drawer 1, secondary I/O module, port 2 Notes • When connecting one MDS600 or D6000 storage enclosure to two BladeSystem c-Class enclosures, each c-Class enclosure has exclusive access to one of the MDS600 or D6000 storage drawers.
