3. In the System Maintenance menu go to unix shell by entering 11. 4. In the Unix Shell type the command "megaconf" to run the utiltity in the foreground. NOTE: Type "exit" to get out of the Unix Shell and to return to the System Maintenance menu. Upgrading VINES servers that use the HP Disk Array Controller PCI adapter Following any upgrade patch to any VINES 6.XX Maintenance Release (e.g. 6.00(10), 6.20, 6.30, 6.40) the System Administrator must perform the following steps to ensure the correct driver is loaded into the kernel. 1. Reload the DAC driver package diskette 2. Build a new kernel 3. Reboot the server If these steps are not performed immediately following any upgrade patch to a VINES 6.XX Maintenance Release, a server panic may occur. For instructions on how to load a third-party driver package on your VINES 6.0 server see your Banyan Server Installation Guide. VINES 6.0 (and later) cannot boot from PCI controller if an EISA controller is also installed Banyan VINES 6.0 (and later) was designed to always boot from EISA disk controllers before PCI disk controllers. To work around this limitation you must either boot from the EISA controller, or the embedded SCSI controller if on the NetServer LC, or remove the EISA controllers from your system. Section 3.
