NOTE: There are sequential levels of cleaning. At the end of each level, the printer produces a Print Quality Report. If streaks appear in any of the color bars on the report, continue with the next level of cleaning. If the problem is solved, select Cancel. TIP: Number each of the Print Quality Report pages in order to track print-quality improvement. Clean the rollers If the Print Quality Report shows smearing, follow these steps to clean the rollers. Step one: Multifunction printers only-Clean the document feeder rollers 1. From the Home screen on the printer control panel, select Support Tools. 2. Open the following menus: ● Maintenance ● Calibration/Cleaning ● Clean Document Feeder Rollers 3. Select Clean Now to begin the cleaning process, and then follow the on-screen prompts. Step two: Resolve Smear 1. From the Home screen on the printer control panel, select Support Tools. 2. Open the following menus: ● Maintenance ● Calibration/Cleaning ● Resolve smear 3. Select Start to begin the cleaning process. This process will take up to three minutes as a page feeds slowly through the printer. Retain this page for further print-quality evaluation.
