Description System board (includes replacement thermal materials): All system boards use the following part numbers: xxxxxx-001: Windows 7 or non-Windows operating systems xxxxxx-501: Windows 8.1 Standard operating system xxxxxx-601: Windows 8.1 Professional or Windows 10 operating system For use in models with 2 GB of discrete graphics memory: ● AMD A10-8700P processor ● AMD A8-7410 processor ● AMD A6-6310 processor For use in models with UMA graphics memory: ● AMD A10-8700P processor ● AMD A8-7410 processor ● AMD A6-6310 processor ● AMD A4-6210 processor Spare part number 809408-xxx 809407-xxx 809339-xxx 809338-xxx 809337-xxx 809336-xxx 809335-xxx Before removing the system board, follow these steps: 1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer. 3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer. 4. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 31). 5. Remove the optical drive (see Optical drive on page 32). 6. Remove the bottom cover (see Bottom cover on page 36). NOTE: When replacing the system board, be sure that the following components are removed from the defective system board and installed on the replacement system board: ● Memory modules (see Memory module on page 45) ● WLAN module (see WLAN module on page 42) ● Heat sink assembly (see Heat sink assembly on page 47) ● Fan (see Fan on page 46) To remove the system board: Component replacement procedures 53
