Display assembly subcomponents NOTE: The display assembly is spared only at the subcomponent level. For more display assembly spare part information, see the individual removal subsections. To remove the display assembly and access the display assembly subcomponents, follow these steps: 1. Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer. 3. Disconnect all external devices from the computer. 4. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 46), and then remove the following components: a. Optical drive (see Optical drive on page 47) b. Hard drive (see Hard drive on page 49) c. WLAN module (see WLAN module on page 51) d. Keyboard (see Keyboard on page 56) e. Top cover (see Top cover on page 60) Remove the display assembly: 1. Disconnect the display panel cable (1) from the system board. 2. Release the display panel cable from the clips built into the base enclosure (2). 3. To remove the display assembly and access the display assembly subcomponents, follow these steps:
1.
Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the
computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2.
Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer.
3.
Disconnect all external devices from the computer.
4.
