Audio/USB board Description Audio/USB board NOTE: The audio/USB board spare part kit does not include the audio/USB board cable. The audio/USB board cable is included in the Cable Kit, spare part number 652696-001. Spare part number 650474-001 Before removing the audio/USB board, follow these steps: 1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer. 3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer. 4. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 41), and then remove the following components: a. Memory module/wireless module compartment cover (see WLAN module on page 44) b. Optical drive (see Optical drive on page 52) c. Hard drive (see Hard drive on page 54) d. Keyboard (see Keyboard on page 57) e. Top cover (see Top cover on page 60) Remove the audio/USB board: 1. Release the ZIF connector to which the audio/USB board cable is connected, and then disconnect the audio/USB board cable (1) from the system board. 2. Remove the Phillips PM2.5×5.0 screw (2) that secures the audio/USB board to the base enclosure. 72 Chapter 4 Removal and replacement procedures

Before removing the audio/USB board, follow these steps:
1.
Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn
the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2.
Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3.
Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet
and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.
4.
Remove the battery (see

), and then remove the following components:
a.
Memory module/wireless module compartment cover (see

c.

Remove the audio/USB board:
1.
Release the ZIF connector to which the audio/USB board cable is connected, and then disconnect
the audio/USB board cable
(1)
from the system board.
2.
Remove the Phillips PM2.5×5.0 screw
(2)
that secures the audio/USB board to
the base enclosure.
