Version 5.1.0 Description HP SUM is a technology included in many HP products, including the Service Pack for ProLiant (SPP), for installing and updating firmware and software components on HP ProLiant and HP Integrity servers, BladeSystem enclosures, and options. HP SUM provides a GUI and a command-line scriptable interface for: • Deployment of firmware for single or one-to-many HP servers and network-based targets such as iLOs, OAs, and VC Ethernet and Fibre Channel modules. • Deployment of software for single or one-to-many HP ProLiant servers (supported in Windows and Linux environments). HP SUM is delivered with the following products: • HP SPP • HP Integrity Smart Update Firmware bundles Supersedes 5.0.1. Operating systems and devices HP ProLiant servers For a complete list of HP ProLiant servers that HP SUM supports, consult the HP Service Pack for ProLiant Server Support Guide for SPP 2012.06.0. HP Integrity servers HP SUM can deploy firmware to the following servers: • HP Integrity Superdome 2 • HP Integrity BL860c i2 • HP Integrity BL870c i2 • HP Integrity BL890c i2 • HP Integrity rx2800 i2 HP SUM must be running on a supported Windows or Linux system as noted in the HP Integrity firmware bundle. HP SUM can update the supported target HP Integrity servers that are running any OS or none at all at the time of the update.
