The front panel of each server tray has video and serial ports, USB ports, NIC ports, and optional out-ofband management LAN ports. The front panel also has two LEDs for health and UID status, and an access port for a low profile PCIe 2.0 x16 adapter. HP ProLiant SL390s G7 server trays We developed two different SL390s G7server trays, each targeted for different computing applications. Both trays use the same system board and fit in the 4U HP ProLiant s6500 chassis. SL390s G7servers have two processor sockets, twelve DDR3 sockets, two 1 Gb Ethernet ports, one 10 Gb Ethernet port, and an onboard port for optional InfiniBand support. The SL390s G7 1U half-width server tray is ideal for HPC environments. It supports a low-profile x16 gen 2 PCI-e slot and two 3.5-inch or four 2.5-inch hard drives (Figure 3). 4
