Purpose These release notes apply to HP StorageWorks 9100 Extreme Data Storage System version 1.0 and later. Version identification To identify the version of the ExDS system software use the following command: # exdsmgr show version The release and version strings are described in the following table: Release V1.0.2 V1.0.1 V1.0 Version number V1.0.2-4811 V1.0.1-4310 V1.0-3972 Update recommendation Recommended Supersedes HP StorageWorks 9100 Extreme Data Storage System versions 1.0 and 1.0.1 Contents of the 1.0.2 release • HP ExDS9100 systems manufactured after June 2009 contain Virtual Connect 1/10Gb-F modules instead of the previous Virtual Connect modules. The software continues to support either model. • This release supports a smaller base configuration. The smallest system now comprises two performance blocks (server blades) and one capacity block (array). • When a 64 TB filesystem is created, the system now stripes the psv over all the LUNs. This improves performance of such filesystems. The exdsmgr show filesystems command now shows whether a filesystem is striped or not. • It is now possible to specify several export options using the exdsmgr create vnfs command. The options= argument now accepts several space-separated options enclosed in double quotes. HP StorageWorks 9100 Extreme Data Storage System release notes 3
