1 Setting Up Your PC Installing an Operating System 5 Insert "Setup Disk #3" when prompted by the installation program. 6 When IDE CD-ROM (ATAPI1.2)/Dual Channel PCI IDE is recognized and proposed as a mass storage device, press to continue. 7 Press ROM. to install the drivers for this device from the CD- 8 Follow the instructions displayed by the Windows NT installation program to continue the installation of Windows NT. 9 When the installation program tries to detect the network adapter, click Continue, then select Continue in the next dialog box. 10 Select No Network in the Add Network Adapter dialog box, then click OK to confirm your choice. 11 Continue the Windows NT installation until a dialog box proposes the type of display connected to your computer. 12 Click OK to select the VGA Compatible Display, then click OK to save the configuration. 13 When the installation of Windows NT is complete, click Restart Computer to restart your computer. Installing the HP IDE Driver To ensure a stable system, you should now install the HP IDE driver: 1 Click the Windows NT Setup icon. 2 In the Options menu, choose Add/Remove SCSI Adapters. 3 Select the installed IDE CD-ROM (ATAPI 1.2)/Dual Channel PCI IDE driver and click on Remove, then OK, to remove the driver. 4 Click Add, to add a new adapter. 5 Insert the "XU/VT Drivers and Documentation" CD-ROM in the CDROM drive. 6 Choose Other from the list box, then specify the location of the driver D:\IDE\NT35. 7 When the driver named CMD 64xx 32-bit IDE Adapter is displayed, click OK and then click on Install. proposed as a mass storage device, press

to install the drivers for this device from the CD-
ROM.

Follow the instructions displayed by the Windows NT installation
program to continue the installation of Windows NT.

When the installation program tries to detect the network adapter,

dialog box, then click

to

Continue the Windows NT installation until a dialog box proposes

When the installation of Windows NT is complete, click
Restart

to restart your computer.
Installing the HP IDE
Driver
To ensure a stable system, you should now install the HP IDE driver:

Click the
Windows NT Setup
icon.

Options
menu, choose

IDE CD-ROM (ATAPI 1.2)/Dual Channel PCI IDE
driver and
click on
