Your Gateway can be configured as a Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) server, which means that it can automatically assign Internet Protocol (IP) addresses to PCs in your Local Area Network (LAN). The Gateway becomes your only visible network device on the Internet. The Gateway also serves as your Internet firewall, protecting your networked PC's from access by external users. All incoming data is monitored and filtered using a firewall. You can configure your Gateway to permit playing Internet games and video conferencing.
