Supported Racks Your HP workstation can be mounted in the following racks: ■ HP Series-E Rack ■ Compaq Rack ■ Many third-party racks, including those with pre-threaded columns NOTE: Each type of rack requires different hardware and tools. Notes in this document identify those differences. Overview To mount your tower system in a rack, you must: 1. Collect tools and equipment. 2. Prepare the rack. 3. Remove the top panel and foot from the chassis. 4. Attach the rack mounting brackets. 5. Mount the workstation in the rack. These steps are explained in this document. Collect Tools and Equipment 1. Verify that your rack kit contains the kit contents identified earlier. 2. Select the appropriate bag of hardware from three bags included with the kit: ❏ M5 hardware ❏ M6 hardware ❏ 10-32 hardware with two rail adapters NOTE: If your rack requires different hardware, you must to provide it. 3. Obtain the required screwdriver(s): ❏ Phillips-head screwdriver ❏ T-15 Torx driver or flat-blade screwdriver ❏ T-25 Torx driver (required for M5 hardware only) 2

To mount your tower system in a rack, you must:

Collect tools and equipment.
2.
Prepare the rack.
3.

Collect Tools and Equipment
1.
Verify that your rack kit contains the kit contents identified earlier.
2.
Select the appropriate bag of hardware from three bags included with the kit:
M5 hardware
M6 hardware
10-32 hardware with two rail adapters
NOTE:
If your rack requires different hardware, you must to provide it.
3.
Obtain the required screwdriver(s):
Phillips-head screwdriver
T-15 Torx driver or flat-blade screwdriver
T-25 Torx driver (required for M5 hardware only)
