Intercharacter, Interfunction, and Intermessage Delays, User Specified Intercharacter Delay

Page 77 highlights

Intercharacter, Interfunction, and Intermessage Delays Some terminals drop information (characters) if data comes through too quickly. Intercharacter, interfunction, and intermessage delays slow the transmission of data, increasing data integrity. Each delay is composed of a 5 millisecond step. You can program up to 99 steps (of 5 ms each) for a range of 0-495 ms. Intercharacter Delay An intercharacter delay of up to 495 milliseconds (in 5 ms steps) may be placed between the transmission of each character of scanned data. Scan the Intercharacter Delay barcode below, then scan the number of 5 millisecond steps (0-99), and the Save barcode using the Programming Chart inside the back cover of this manual. Prefix Scanned Data Suffix 1234 5 Intercharacter Delay Intercharacter Delay To remove this delay, scan the Intercharacter Delay barcode, then set the number of steps to 0. Scan the Save barcode using the Programming Chart inside the back cover of this manual. Note: Intercharacter delays are not supported in USB serial emulation. User Specified Intercharacter Delay An intercharacter delay of up to 495 milliseconds (in 5 ms steps) may be placed after the transmission of a particular character of scanned data. Scan the Delay Length barcode below, then scan the number of 5 millisecond steps (099), and the Save barcode using the Programming Chart inside the back cover of this manual. 4 - 5

Intercharacter, Interfunction, and Intermessage
Delays
Some terminals drop information (characters) if data comes through too quickly.
Intercharacter, interfunction, and intermessage delays slow the transmission of
data, increasing data integrity.
Each delay is composed of a 5 millisecond step.
You can program up to 99
steps (of 5 ms each) for a range of 0-495 ms.
Intercharacter Delay
An intercharacter delay of up to 495 milliseconds (in 5 ms steps) may be placed
between the transmission of each character of scanned data.
Scan the
Inter-
character Delay
barcode below, then scan the number of 5 millisecond steps
(0-99), and the
Save
barcode using the
Programming Chart
inside the back
cover of this manual.
To remove this delay, scan the
Intercharacter Delay
barcode, then set the num-
ber of steps to 0.
Scan the
Save
barcode using the
Programming Chart
inside
the back cover of this manual.
Note:
Intercharacter delays are not supported in USB serial emulation.
User Specified Intercharacter Delay
An intercharacter delay of up to 495 milliseconds (in 5 ms steps) may be placed
after the transmission of a particular character of scanned data.
Scan the
Delay Length
barcode below, then scan the number of 5 millisecond steps (0-
99),
and the
Save
barcode using the
Programming Chart
inside the back cover
of this manual.
