To select the desired heating mode, slide the Direction Control switch, located on the top of the heater, to the position of your choice (Fig. 4): - to the left ( ) for 360° Heating 360° Heating - to the right ( ) for Forward Only Heating (One Direction Heating) • With the Power knob in the OFF (O) position, plug the heater into a polarized 120V outlet. DO NOT FORCE THE POLARIZED PLUG INTO THE OUTLET; it will only fit one way. • Turn the Thermostat control fully clockwise to the HIGH setting. Fig. 5 Power Light • This heater is equipped with three different heat settings. The Power Low setting ( ) uses 600 watts of power, the Medium setting ( ) Knob uses 900 watts of power and the High setting ( ) uses 1500 watts of power. You can select the proper setting to accommodate your comfort level. Because the Low and Medium heat settings do not require as much electricity to operate, they are more energy efficient and may be better options if you are concerned about the amperage draw on a circuit when the heater is in the High setting. Forward Only Heating (One Direction Heating) Thermostat Knob • Turn the heater on using the Child Resistant Switch (Power knob). To operate the switch, push in the two sides of the Power knob while turning it clockwise to the desired position (Fig. 5). The power light will illuminate. The Child Resistant Switch helps to keep the heater from being turned on unintentionally; there is no way to disengage this safety feature. • When the room reaches a comfortable temperature, slowly turn the Thermostat control counterclockwise until the heating element goes off (the power light will remain on). This is the point at which the Thermostat setting equals the room temperature. At this setting, the Thermostat will automatically turn the heater on and off to maintain the selected temperature. • Push down and turn the Power knob to OFF and unplug the heater when you are finished using it. HZ-3220 OPERATION • The Tower Surround Heater is designed to disperse heat in either a 360° Fig. 6 range or in one direction only. To select the desired heating mode, slide the Direction Control switch, located on the top of the heater, to the position of your choice (Fig. 6): - to the left ( ) for 360° Heating 360° Heating - to the right ( ) for Forward Only Heating (One Direction Heating) • Plug the heater into a polarized 120V outlet. DO NOT FORCE THE POLARIZED PLUG INTO THE OUTLET; it will only fit one way. Forward Only Heating (One Direction Heating) STEP 1: POWER • Press the Power button to start the heater. Your heater will automatically start on High power ( ), continuous run (Fig. 7). • To turn your heater OFF simply press the Power button again. NOTE: When initially turned on, the heater will operate in continuous run mode. The heater will continue to run regardless of the room temperature in this mode. The heater is running in this mode when no LED lights are illuminated on the thermostat display.
