utes. You should now test the pH level of the water. Use the included test strips to check the pH of the water. Refer to the instructions on the test strip packaging to see how to use the test strips. If the level is too low, add one teaspoon from one of the "QUICK pHix It UP" packets to the water. Let the water circulate through the spa jet unit for five minutes. Test the pH level again. Repeat until the pH level is correct. If the level is too high, add one teaspoon from the "QUICK pHix It DOWN" packets to the water. Let the water circulate through the spa jet unit for five minutes. Test the pH level again. Repeat until the pH level is correct. insert the key and turn it counterclockwise a quarter turn. Always keep the buckles locked when the spa is not in use. Keep the keys in a safe place, out of the reach of children. SPA JET UNIT OPERATION The spa jet unit features four hydro-therapy jets, two suction inlets, and a filter housing. The four hydro-therapy jets, located on the front of the wet side jet pack, focus the water massage on your back. Replace the spa cover and allow the water to continue to heat. THE HEATING SYSTEM OF YOUR SPA Jets The heating system in your spa is designed to be economical for long-term use. Combined with the fact that water absorbs heat very slowly, the effect is that it will take 1 to 3 days (depending on the room temperature) to heat the water in the spa. The good news is that once the water is heated, it will maintain its temperature for a relatively low cost. You can reduce the waiting period by filling the spa with hot water, but be aware that the spa holds more water than your water heater. Make sure the spa cover is on and that it is tight while the water is heating. The chart below shows approximate heating times for different air temperatures with a water temperature of 60° to 64°F. Air Temperature At least 70°F At least 50°F At least 30°F Heating Time 20 to 28 hours 28 to 48 hours 48 to 72 hours SECURING THE SPA COVER The spa cover can be secured by snapping the latches on the spa cover into the buckles on the wood surround. The buckles can be locked by inserting the key and turning it clockwise a quarter turn. To unlock the buckles, Latch Key Buckle Suction Vents The suction vents, located on the bottom side of the wet side jet pack, pull the water into the spa unit in order to operate the system. The suction covers should always be in place over the suction vent. Never operate the spa without the suction covers in place. CLEANING THE FILTER The filter is located on the right side of Cover Cap the dry side jet pack. The filter can Flat Wrench be removed for Filter Cap cleaning and replacement by Filter removing the cover cap and the filter cap and then pulling the filter from the spa jet unit. IMPOR- TANT: You must prime the spa jet unit (see the instructions on page 10) each time you have cleaned the filter. 11
