NORMAL/PS Select Normal/PS when the player is connected to a normal TV. Wide-screen images are shown on the screen, but with the left and right parts of the video frame deleted. 2. NORMAL/LB Select this "letter box" option when the player is connected to a normal TV. The entire wide-screen image is displayed, with black bands on the top and bottom. 3. WIDE Select Wide when the product is connected to a wide-screen TV. The entire wide-screen image will be displayed. SPDIF output Sony/Philips Digital Interface (SPDIF) works with digital audio equipment that can playback linear PCM coded audio. Here are the options: 1. SPDIF OFF: No signal is output from the digital port. 2. SPDIF/RAW: Select this when the DVD player is connected to a digital amplifier through the digital port. When a Dolby Digital or MPEG disc is played, the digital audio output becomes available. The connected audio amplifier must have Dolby Digital and MPEG decoding capabilities to play SPDIF titles. 3. SPDIF/PCM: Select this when the DVD player is connected to a Dolby 2channel digital stereo amplifier. When a Dolby Digital or MPEG disc is played, the digital port will output in PCM 2-channel format. - 20 -
