Insignia NS-HD3113 HD Radio Shelf System with iPod Dock 3 Press STANDBY/ON to turn on your shelf system. iPOD appears on the display, and the iPod starts playback. Connecting an external audio device You can connect an external audio device, such as an MP3 player, to your shelf system to play sound from the device through your shelf system speakers. To connect an external audio device: 1 Make sure that your shelf system is turned off. 2 Connect one end of an audio cable (not included) to the LINE OUT jack on the external audio device, then connect the other end of the cable to the AUX IN jack on the front of your shelf system. 3 Press STANDBY/ON to turn on your shelf system. 4 Press AUX on the remote control to select the auxiliary input from the device. Sound from the external device is played through your shelf system speakers. Using your shelf system Before using your shelf system, make sure all connections are good, then plug the AC power cord into an AC power outlet. Turning your shelf system on and off To turn on your shelf system: 1 Press STANDBY/ON . Your shelf system turns on and starts playback in the last selected play mode. 2 Press STANDBY/ON again to switch your shelf system to standby mode. Selecting the play mode To select the play mode: • CD/DVD-Press CD/DVD on the remote control, or press INPUT on the shelf system repeatedly until CD/DVD is shown on the display. • AM/FM-Press AM/FM on the remote control, or press INPUT on the shelf system repeatedly until AM/FM is shown on the display. • AUX-Press AUX on the remote control, or press INPUT on the shelf system repeatedly until AUX is shown on the display. • iPOD®-Press IPOD on the remote control, or press INPUT on the shelf system until IPOD is shown on the display. Adjusting the volume To adjust the volume: • Press VOL+ or VOL- to increase or decrease the volume. VOLUME and the current volume setting appear on the display. • Press MUTE to turn off the sound. Press MUTE, VOL+, or VOL- to turn the sound back on. Playing a CD or DVD To play a CD or DVD: 1 Turn on your shelf system. 2 Press CD/DVD on the remote control. 3 Press EJECT to open the disc tray. 4 Place a CD or DVD in the disc tray, with the label facing up, then press EJECT again to close the disc tray. The disc starts playback automatically. Controlling CD/DVD playback To control CD/DVD playback: • Press PLAY/PAUSE on the remote control or the shelf system to start or pause playback. • Press NEXT or PREVIOUS to go to the next or previous track (CD) or chapter (DVD). • Press the F.FWD or F.RWD to search forward or backward on the disc. Pressing the button repeatedly changes the speed (2X, 4X, 8X, 16X, 32X, play). • Press SLOW to play the disc in slow motion. Press repeatedly to slow to 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, or 1/16 speed. • Press STOP once to stop playback. The shelf system memorizes the stop point and when playback is resumed, it starts from that point. During playback, if you press STOP twice, it starts from the beginning of the disc. • Press REPEAT one or more times to select a repeat mode. You can select: • DVD-Chapter, Title, All • CD-Track, All • MP3, JPEG, and so on-Single, Repeat One, Repeat Folder, Folder • Press REPEAT A-B to repeat a section of the disc. • Press REPEAT A-B at the beginning of the section you want repeated. • Press REPEAT A-B again at the end of the section you want repeated. The selected section is automatically repeated. • Press REPEAT A-B again to cancel. Selecting playback options To go directly to a specific title: 1 While a DVD is playing, press TITLE to show a list of titles on the DVD (if available). 2 Press , , , or to select a title, then press PLAY/ENTER to start playback from that title. To go directly to a specific track (CD only): 1 While a disc is playing, press the number buttons on the remote control of the track you want to play. For example, to go to track 16, press number 1, then press number 6. 2 Press PLAY/ENTER to start playback from the selected track. www.insignia-products.com 9

Connecting an external audio device
You can connect an external audio device, such
as an MP3 player, to your shelf system to play
sound from the device through your shelf system
speakers.
To connect an external audio device:

Make sure that your shelf system is turned
off.

Adjusting the volume
To adjust the volume:

to increase or decrease
the volume.

to turn off the sound. Press

back on.
Playing a CD or DVD
To play a CD or DVD:
