Over-the-Range Microwave Step 8: Option A (recirculating) - Installing or changing the charcoal filter You'll need: Phillips screwdrivers For models without the recirculation filter access, follow these steps to replace or install a charcoal filter. 1 Unplug the microwave oven or disconnect the power. 2 Open the microwave door and remove the two vent mounting screws located on top of the microwave using a #1 Phillips screwdriver. Step 8: Option A (recirculating) - Installing or changing the charcoal filter
For models without the recirculation filter access, follow these steps to replace or install a charcoal filter.

Unplug the microwave oven or disconnect the power.

Open the microwave door and remove the two vent mounting screws located on top of the microwave using a #1
Phillips screwdriver.

Remove the charcoal filter by pushing the top of the filter inwards, then pull it forward out from the unit.
