Installing and Replacing Desktop Board Components Connecting Power Cables CAUTION Failure to use an ATX12V power supply, or not connecting the 12 V (2x2) processor core voltage power supply connector to the desktop board may result in damage to the desktop board and/or power supply. PCI Express x16 graphics cards that consume 75 W or more power require the use of an ATX12V power supply with 2x12 power connections to support the additional power requirements. Connecting 2x10 Power Supply Cables The 2x12 main power connector on the desktop board is backwards compatible with ATX12V power supplies with 2x10 power connections.
