Hardware Installations and Upgrades Installing the Processor Air Duct Note: The following procedure is not applicable to the UP configuration of the Intel® Entry Server Chassis SC5299-E. The processor air duct on the UP configuration is built into the left side cover. Removal of the left side cover will also remove the attached ductwork. Note: The following procedure is not applicable to the DP/BRP configuration of the Intel® Entry Server Chassis SC5299-E if you have an Intel® Server Board S3000AH installed. Warning: DO NOT operate the server chassis without the processor air duct in place. The processor air duct is required for proper airflow within the chassis. 1. Lower the processor air duct into the chassis and line it up with the two mounting holes in chassis. Secure the processor air duct to the chassis with two mounting screws. TP01137 Figure 17. Installing Processor Air Duct 2. Install the left side cover. For instructions, see "Installing the Left Side Cover". 3. Plug all peripheral devices and the AC power cable into the server. Power up the server. Installing or Removing a Server Board Note: The type of Intel® Server Board you can install in your chassis will depend upon the model of chassis you purchased. For a breakout of server board/chassis model compatibility, see Table 1, "Breakdown of Intel® Entry Server Chassis SC5299-E Configurations". To install or remove a server board, do the following: 1. Installing the Processor Air Duct
Note:
The following procedure is not applicable to the UP configuration of the Intel
®
Entry
Server Chassis SC5299-E. The processor air duct on the UP configuration is built into the
left side cover. Removal of the left side cover will also remove the attached ductwork.

The following procedure is not applicable to the DP/BRP configuration of the Intel

Entry
Server Chassis SC5299-E if you have an Intel® Server Board S3000AH installed.
Warning:
DO NOT
operate the server chassis without the processor air duct in place. The processor
air duct is required for proper airflow within the chassis.
1.
Lower the processor air duct into the chassis and line it up with the two mounting
holes in chassis. Secure the processor air duct to the chassis with two mounting
screws.

Install the left side cover. For instructions, see

3.
Plug all peripheral devices and the AC power cable into the server. Power up the
server.
