RAID Support The Intel® Server System SR1530CL / SR1530HCL / SR1530HCLS and the Intel® Server System SR1530CLR / SR1530HCLR / SR1530HCLSR provide SATA support.The embedded SATA controller supports both 1.5 and 3.0 Gbps data transfer rates. The BIOS Setup utility provides multiple drive configuration options on the Advanced | ATA Controller setup page, some of which affect the ability to configure RAID. The "Onboard SATA Controller" option is enabled by default. When this option is enabled, the "SATA Mode" option can be set to either Legacy or Enhanced. The Legacy and Enhanced modes affect the features and available ports as follows: • Legacy does not provide RAID support. • Enhanced is required for RAID configurations. When the enhanced mode is selected, you can choose to enable or disable "AHCI Mode" or "Configure SATA as RAID". Intel® Embedded Server RAID Technology II is enabled by the option, "Configure SATA as RAID." The Intel® Embedded Server RAID Technology II feature provides RAID modes 0, 1, and 10. For information on setting up RAID, see the RAID Software Guide that is included on the Intel® Server Deployment Toolkit 2.0 CD. Rack-Mounted Systems The Intel® Server System SR1530CL / SR1530HCL / SR1530HCLS and the Intel® Server System SR1530CLR / SR1530HCLR / SR1530HCLSR can be mounted into a rack. When installing the system into a rack, Intel recommends you install systems from the bottom of the rack to the top. In other words, install the first system in the rack into the bottom position of the rack, the second system in the second position from the bottom, and so on. Instructions for installing your chassis into a rack are included in the rail kit. The order numbers are as follows: • Fixed mount relay rack / cabinet mount kit that can be configured to mount the system into either a 2-post or 4-post cabinet: AXXBRACKETS • Basic slide rail kit designed to mount the system into a standard, 19-inch by 30-inch EIA-310D-compatible cabinet: AXXBASICRAIL (included with system) • High-end tool-less rail kit: AXXHERAIL 14 Server System User Guide

The Intel
