English TROUBLESHOOTING What appears to be a malfunction may not always be serious and can easily be corrected. The table below describes some typical problems and their remedies. Check them before calling your JVC dealer. Symptom The CD is not played. The sound is intermittent or harsh. The remote controller does not properly work. The component does not operate. Possible Cause The CD is not loaded. The CD is not placed in the slot with its label on the left side. A disc has been placed outside of the loading area The CD is damaged. The AC power cord is disconnected. The audio cord is disconnected. The CD is soiled. The CD is scretched or warped. A piece of paper or adhesive tape is stuck to the CD surface. The audio cord is placed close to the AC powercord. The batteries are exhausted. Remedy Load the disc. Reload the disc correctly. Specify the slot number and open the disc storage door. Then close the door. Replace the disc with a new one. Connect the cord securely. Connect the cord securely. Clean the surface using a piece of soft cloth. Replace the disc with a new one. Remove it cleanly. Separate them. Replace the batteries. The remote control is not properly used. The internal circuitry is not properly functioning due to static electricity or other disturbance. Its maximum range is 7 meters (23 feet) and 30 degrees away from the component. Disconnect the AC power cord and connect it again. 145
