Setting the audio for connected components (NV-701 only) 23 There are different types of audio connections available with this unit depending on what type of component you are making connections to. Select the type of audio input that best reflects the type of connections you have made to external components. Preparation section 1 Select "Surround Options". MENU DEMO MULTI CONTROL SET 2 Select "Input Mode". MULTI CONTROL SET 3 Select the input. MULTI CONTROL SET 4 Set the input mode. MULTI CONTROL SET 5 Save the settings. ENTER The following items can be selected by pressing the MULTI CONTROL keys repeatedly. ("CD Program Play") ("Recording Options") "Tape Options" "Audio Options" "Clock Options" "Surround Options" (NV-701 only) +"Surround Options" is scrolled in the display Surround Opt The following items can be selected by pressing the MULTI CONTROL keys repeatedly. "Speakers Distance" "Input Mode" "Speaker Selection" +"Input Mode" is scrolled in the display Input Mode The following items can be selected by pressing the MULTI CONTROL keys repeatedly. "VIDEO1" "VIDEO2" ÷ The input setting is stored independently for each input. If you have made connections to components using both VIDEO 1 and VIDEO 2 input jacks, be sure to perform this procedure for each component. The following items can be selected by pressing the MULTI CONTROL keys repeatedly. "D - Auto" (Automatic digital signal selection) "D - Manual" (Manual digital signal selection) "Analog" ÷ Set "D - Auto" or "D - Manual" when you have made connections to the DIGITAL VIDEO 1 COAX. IN jack or the DIGITAL VIDEO 2 OPT. IN jack. ÷ When "D - Auto" is set, the format of the digital audio signal being input is automatically selected and decoded. ÷ When "D - Manual" is set, the format of the digital audio signal being input is manually selected using the LSTN M. key on the remote control unit. ÷ For more details on selecting a digital audio format, see "Surround play" on page 54. ÷ Set "Analog" when you have made connections to the AUDIO - VIDEO 1 PLAY IN/REC OUT jacks or the AUDIO - VIDEO 2/6 CH INPUT discreet input jacks (stereo/6channel).

If you have made connections to components using both
VIDEO 1 and VIDEO 2 input jacks, be sure to perform this
procedure for each component.

Set “D – Auto” or “D – Manual“ when you have made
connections to the DIGITAL VIDEO 1 COAX. IN jack or
the DIGITAL VIDEO 2 OPT. IN jack.

When “D – Auto” is set, the format of the digital audio
signal being input is automatically selected and decoded.

When “D – Manual” is set, the format of the digital audio
signal being input is manually selected using the
