Warm rinses leave the loads dryer than cold rinses. Warm rinses increase wrinkling. In cold climates, a warm rinse makes the load more comfortable to handle. Cold rinses save energy. Temperature Guide Wash Water Temperature Suggested Fabrics SUPER HOT 153°F (67° C) Sturdy colorfast fabrics Heavy soils HOT 122°F (50°C) or above Whites and pastels Heavy soils WARM 104°F (40°C) Bright colors Moderate to light soils COLD 77°F (25°C) Colors that bleed or fade Light soils In wash water temperatures colder than 70°F (21°C), detergents do not dissolve well. Soils may be difficult to remove. Automatic Temperature Control The automatic temperature control electronically senses and maintains a uniform water temperature. Automatic temperature control regulates incoming hot and cold water. Automatic temperature control is automatically turned On when a cycle is selected. See "Preset Cycle Settings" in "Cycles." s Automatic temperature control ensures consistent cleaning. s Automatic temperature control works for all wash and rinse temperature settings.
