DR1600/DAR2800 Operator's Manual NI Maintenance the Document Pressure Glass. Supplement As a document is being fed, the Document Pressure Glass and the Document Transport Belt became electrostatically changed. This causes a rise in the coefficient of friction. As a result, a document might be transported skewed or might misfeed. If skewed document feeding or an inordinate number of document misfeed occurs, polish the back side of the Document Pressure Glass with metallic car wax. Procedure for Waxing. 1 Swing open the Document Pressure Glass. 2 While moving the sponge in large ovals, apply a light, even coating of wax to the back side of the Document Pressure Glass. 3 Before the wax has dried, polish the back side of the Document Pressure Glass with a dry piece of soft cloth. -I CAUTION Never clean it with a cloth which has been dampened with alcohol, water and others to remove the wax. If the Document Pressure Glass becomes contaminated with foreign matter, clean it by carrying out the waxing procedure given above.
