Utility Tool 13 13.4 ToneCurve Utility Using the ToneCurve Utility allows you to adjust the brightness and the contrast of the document to be printed. The tone curve that has been registered can also be used by other computers on the network. 2 Note The tone curve that has been created by the ToneCurve Utility and registered with the image controller can be selected only by the PPD Plug-in Driver to be used for printing. For details of the ToneCurve Utility, refer to the help file. The flowchart for the operation of ToneCurve Utility is as described below. 1. Start of the ToneCurve Utility. 2. Selection of a printer. 3. When a test chart is used that has been registered: Select a registered test chart from the pull-down list. When any test chart is arbitrarily used: Click [Add] to select a file (restricted only to PS and PDF files). (The registration of up to 10 files is available.) 4. 5. Adjustment of the ToneCurve Utility. (An adjustment can be made either by the drag and drop of the mouse or the slider.) Verification of the output by means of the test chart. Click [Print] in the Print Settings screen. Adjust the tone curve again, if necessary. 6. Saving of the tone curve and default setting of the tone curve (Saved in the image controller.) 7. Settings completed 8.
