Finishing Punch 7-5 When Staple is selected, Binding edge is selected automatically. Initial Binding edge settings depend on the page size and the Staple setting. Binding edge settings can be changed as desired. Staple can be turned On or Off in the Quick Print tab. Note: If you are printing with different page sizes, the staple location may not match. To accommodate these differences, select the binding edge positions for each paper size in Binding edge > Custom Settings. Stapling a Print Job 1 In the Finishing tab, click the Staple icon. 2 Select the position from available options. The position options vary based on settings in Binding edge, which provides custom staple locations in the document. 3 Under Sheets per group, select the number of sheets for each stapled set or select All to staple all sheets. 4 Click OK in all dialog boxes. With this feature, you can punch holes along the edge of the printed pages so that the pages can be bound together or placed in a binder. Punch is enabled when an optional finishing device supporting the Punch feature, is selected under Device options in Device Settings. When you select the check box for a finishing device shown in blue in the Device options list, the Punch Unit Settings dialog box appears. If the device listing is already selected, double-click the option to open the Punch Unit Settings dialog box. Punch cannot be used when Booklet is selected in the Layout tab. Binding edge should be selected before any other features in the Finishing tab. If set last, Binding edge might change any settings that you previously made for Punch. Note: If you are printing with different page sizes, the punch hole location may not match. To accommodate these differences, select the binding edge positions for each paper size in Binding edge > Custom Settings. Creating Punch Holes for a Print Job 1 In the Finishing tab, click the Punch icons to select Off or to select the number of hole punches: 2 hole 3 hole 4 hole The Punch positions vary based on settings in Binding edge. 2 Click OK in all dialog boxes.
