Chapter 3 Logging in to the Switch Chapter 3 Logging in to the Switch You can configure and manage the Switch through an intuitive and easy-to-use Web UI. Before configuring the Switch via Web UI, you need to properly install and configure TCP/IP properties on the computer that you use to administer the Switch. 3.1 Configuring Your Computer To configure the Switch via Web UI, you need to assign your computer an IP address on the same subnet as the Switch. The Switch's default IP address is 192.168.1.1 with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0. Here we describe how to set a static IP address in Windows XP. The steps are as follows: Step 1 Click Start > Settings > Control Panel. Step 2 Double-click Network Connections icon. Step 3 Right-click the Local Area Connection icon and select Properties. Step 4 On the General tab, click the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) item, and then click the Properties bLevelOneon. You can configure and manage the Switch through an intuitive and easy-to-use Web UI.
Before configuring the Switch via Web UI, you need to properly install and configure
